Holly Hunter was an American actor who was famous in the film Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. Holly Hunter won many awards, including an Oscar for her film Piano. The talented actress began her acting career on the stage through a variety of Broadway as well as Off-Broadway productions. As a child, Helen Keller was her favourite character in a fifth grade production. The actress was deaf in one ear after suffering from the mumps virus, however she did not allow this handicap to hinder her determination to become an actress. In her teens she studied drama, before moving into New York City. After a casual encounter, she got stuck in an elevator with the playwright Beth Henley and the two collaborated in the play 'The Broadway Crimes of the Heart and became Hunter's debut. She relocated to Los Angeles and tried to find movie roles. For Swing Shift, she landed a role as a support. Since she was a part of the film she has appeared featured in a variety of television movies and series. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star and also the Women in Film Lucy Award.
