Holly Hunter was an American actress who became famous for the films Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. Holly Hunter won many awards, including the Oscar for her movie Piano. She began her career as an actress on Broadway and Off Broadway. It has always been her passion. When she was in fifth grade, she played Helen Keller in an original show. Mumps led her to lose hearing in one of her ear, however this didn't stop the actress from fulfilling her dream. She was a drama major at the college after which she moved from Pittsburgh and moved to New York City to follow her dream. Through a random encounter, she was stuck in an elevator alongside writer Beth Henley and the two collaborated in the play 'The Broadway Crimes of the Heart and became Hunter's debut. When she moved to Los Angeles, she began to look for film roles. The role she was offered came in the role of an actress playing the main character in Swing Shift. Holly Hunter has been in several films, TV series as well as movies throughout the span of her 30-year career. Holly Hunter received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and has also won her the Women in Film Lucy Award.
